Job Description
To successfully manage all financial aspects of a project pre and post contract.
Minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while achieving the required quality, safety and environmental standards
Liaise with clients and develop cost plans and estimates in line with their requirements.
To ensure compliance with the Company Standards of Service, Management Systems and to meet the requirements of the company business plan(s).
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and cash flow forecasts.
Undertake costs analysis and reporting on project work (pre and post contract).
Assist in establishing the client’s requirements and undertake budget cost studies which reflect these requirements.
Perform risk /value management and cost control.
Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
Prepare and analyse costs for tenders.
Obtain quotations and preparing sub contract documents for subcontractors.
Provide advice on and assisting with the preparation of contractual claims.
Analyse outcomes of and writing detailed progress reports.
Prepare interim valuations, final accounts and arranging payments.
Maintain awareness of the various civil engineering contracts in current use.
Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Maintain Document logs and registers.
Liaise with contract staff, suppliers and clients
Implement and maintain company procedures and contract administrative systems
Use a variety of software packages including EasyEarthworks, Excel, Word, Project, Constructa and Entropy
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
Essential
-Strong track record of delivery of projects in a Construction environment
-Clear understanding of the full project management lifecycle
-Good written and oral communication skills
-Commercial acumen and financial awareness
-Minimum 5 years Site Supervisory experience in civil works
-Results orientated
-Good problem solving skills
- Ability to:

-Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- General IT literacy.
Microsoft Office package – Intermediate levels.
Desirable
At least 3 years’ experience working as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction/civils industry
-Educated to at least HND level in Quantity Surveying
-Recognised project management qualification
