Production Manager

Job Description

Our cliens based in Aberdeen is looking for a Production Manager to join their team on a staff basis.

Key Responsibilities
The Production Manager will be responsible for all operational activities required to operate the facility in a safe, efficient and compliant manner, by achieving high levels of operational availability and stability in furtherance of Scotland’s vision of becoming a Zero Waste Society. The facility will operate on a continuous basis and the Production Manager will oversee the entire production process from waste delivery, boiler operations and power generation through to residue disposal.
The Production Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of a medium sized team of front line operations personnel and the oversight and coordination of a wide range of specialist support vendors and sub-contractors.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Skills/Experience
• Ideally degree educated, in a technical or process related area of study and ideally supplemented with further studies in business or organisational development; OR HNC/HND with significant experience gained in a continuous process environment.
• Excellent people skills coupled with a focus on developing a team
• Strong experience within a complex continuous multi-shift process environment
• Knowledge and experience with a high temperature continuous process (power generation, metallurgy, cement industry, petrochemicals)
• Extensive knowledge of equipment, systems and documentation associated with the transformation of energy.
• Strong commercial and project management skills, an eye for detail and a desire to drive improvements.
• Passion for the health and safety of people, plant, equipment and the environment, and a desire to embed that culture widely across the facility.
• Experience of SAP or other ERP systems would be beneficial
