Job Description

Our client is recruiting a Pipe Care Unit & Inspection Supervisor to oversee their new business venture based in Senegal.

Responsibilities:
• The running of the Pipe Care Unit (PCU) and all associated services in Senegal
• Managing and monitoring the cleaning, preparation and inspection of all OCTG
• Inspection of all OCTG in conjunction with team
• Managing the PCU team, including qualified and semi-skilled labour
• Training of personnel and other team members in OCTG inspection and maintenance
• Preparation of all inspection reports
• Client meetings and interaction, including reporting all operational matters
• Interaction with yard managers and personnel to ensure smooth operational performance
• Reporting to our management team
• Maintenance of PCU and supporting equipment
• Management of spares, consumables and suppliers
• All required legislative checks, such as water and air quality
• Management of all inspection tools, including calibration and service checks
• All other processes to ensure the smooth running of operations in Senegal

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Fully trained and qualified OCTG inspector, including all VAM connections
• Fluent in both French and English
• Experience of working in West Africa
• Mechanical knowledge and skill set around pneumatics, pumps, valves, generators and compressors
• To be able to review procedures and quality plans
• To communicate and interact with customers and third party inspectors
• Line manager responsibility for a small team so previous experience required
• Working as a core member of the business to ensure that production targets are met
• Preferably an engineering background around upstream oil and gas
• Supervisory experience in a similar role
• Experience of working in quality control and inspection processes
• Experience of monitoring and controlling inspection equipment, focus on OCTG inspection
• Excellent attention to detail
• Commercial awareness
• Highly motivated individual with good multi-tasking skills essential
• Safety focused with demonstrable adherence to regulatory requirements
• Client focused and ability to meet client and internal deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision
• Ability to work well as part of a team with an excellent work ethic.
