Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Production Technician on a 2/3 offshore rotation.

Duties include:
• Perform planned maintenance, trouble shooting, inspections, repairs and overhauls on offshore electrical plant, equipment and systems as directed by the Operations/Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with government and company regulations and core expectations
• Operate and maintain all facility and life support equipment.
• Input into the planning cycle as requested by the Operations / Maintenance Supervisor
• Carry out isolations and plant preparation in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain tools, test equipment and workshop equipment to a high standard
• Utilise the Maintenance Management System to properly document and accurately report all maintenance, repairs, overhauls, adjustments and inspections
• Promote improvement to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on site
• Comply with the site environmental policies and procedures and actively promote environmental improvements
• Assists in ensuring the integrity of the installation Permit to Work System from a Mechanical perspective
• Participates in HAZOP’s
• Familiar with oil and gas separation plant and related rotating equipment (gas compressors and sea water injection pumps). Knowledge of lifting and rigging techniques.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Essential
• Completion of Mechanical Apprenticeship
• Relevant post apprenticeship working experience within the Oil and Gas industry
• Familiar with oil and gas separation plant and related rotating equipment (gas compressors and sea water injection pumps)
• Knowledge of lifting and rigging techniques. Comprehensive knowledge of the hazards associated with high-pressure hydrocarbon systems
• Sound knowledge of the offshore permit to work system and associated processes
• Maintenance regimes associated with large pieces of rotating equipment.
• Maintenance management systems
