Job Description

The purpose of the job is to contribute to an efficient, cost effective and client focused service by assisting in all company contracted works. This work is of a non-routine nature across the whole area of our operations. Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by the things that you do, or do not. Co-operating with your employer, so far as it is necessary to enable you to carry out your Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) duties. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with your H&S Procedures and any additional instructions communicated to you. Promptly reporting any transgressions from, or violations of, OH&S to the Foreman (Ganger), Plant Manager or relevant Manager in accordance with procedures. Taking personal ‘ownership’ of OH&S matters and never ignoring hazards, unsafe acts or unsafe conditions. Reporting any known or suspected defects or failings in the OH&S Management System to the relevant Manager without delay. Environmental An awareness of, and compliance with, the company’s environmental policies, main aspects, impacts and work procedures. An awareness of: The company’s Emergency Plan, Pollution Incident Response Plans and general pollution preventions and control requirements. Environmental best practice as it relates to your own and your teams work. Adopting and introducing recycling and energy saving initiatives within your own working environment. Adopting an environmentally responsible attitude to company business and ensuring the accurate reporting of any environmental incidents or near miss incidents. Quality Awareness of, and compliance with, the company’s quality management system; including quality policies, main aspects, impacts and procedures. Ensuring that you and any member of your team take ownership of quality matters. Awareness of the company’s quality objectives and targets and ensuring that work is carried in harmony with and in pursuance of them. Ensuring that all work is undertaken in a quality manner. This means doing a task right, first time, thus creating a culture of efficiency and effectiveness. Reporting any known or suspected failing or defects in the quality management system to the relevant Manager, without delay. Key Operational Responsibilities Under the direction of the Skilled worker, and in accordance with your competences and qualifications, to:  Assisting with locating other utilities, installing and commissioning utilities, both public and private. Assisting with locating other utilities, installing and commissioning non-utility work. Excavate, backfill, reinstate tracks and assist, or work with, all teams.

Essential

Relevant CPCS card for plant driving if applicable
-CSCS Card
-Good written and oral communication skills

Ability to:
-develop new skills.

- Demonstrate a good knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001
