Job Description

Tulloch Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Environmental Coordinator on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in environmental management within the offshore energy industry. Working as part of an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team, you will provide support across environmental reporting, regulatory compliance, data management and environmental management systems.

The position will be responsible for supporting the environmental & sustainability team and timely delivery of environmental projects and other work linked to the UKCS operations. This will also include but not be limited to:

Environmental Performance, Data and Reporting
The Environment Co-ordinator will support the collation, review, analysis and reporting of environmental and energy performance data for UKCS operations. Responsibilities will include:
• Collating environmental data from internal teams, offshore assets, contractors and external systems.
• Supporting the preparation of environmental performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Assisting with the QA/QC of environmental and energy data to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Supporting the submission of environmental and energy data for regulatory, internal management-system and corporate reporting purposes.
• Maintaining environmental trackers, action logs, databases and evidence records.
• Identifying data gaps, anomalies or reporting risks and escalating these to the Environmental Manager.
• Supporting environmental performance trend analysis and helping identify improvement opportunities.
• Act as the environmental allocations focal point, supporting accurate allocation of environmental data and ensuring allocation outputs are complete, traceable and suitable for regulatory, internal and partner reporting.
• Collate, review and analyse waste returns, chemical analysis results and gas sampling data to support accurate environmental reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Support preparation of the EMS Annual Statement, including collation, validation and presentation of relevant environmental performance data and supporting evidence.

Regulatory and Permit Support
The role will support the Environmental and Sustainability team in delivering regulatory commitments and permit requirements for UKCS offshore operations. Responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the preparation of environmental regulatory documentation.
• Supporting the administration and tracking of permits, consents, applications, approvals and compliance obligations.
• Assisting with environmental permit requirements, including support for applications relating to production, pipeline, wells, atmospheric emissions, chemical use and discharges, as appropriate to the role holder’s experience.
• Supporting the preparation of correspondence and documentation for internal stakeholders, contractors and regulators.
• Maintaining awareness of key UKCS environmental regulatory requirements and helping ensure deadlines are met.
• Supporting the team with the delivery of environmental and energy objectives.
• Helping maintain compliance evidence against permit conditions, consent requirements and management-system commitments.
• Support UKETS and PPC assurance and audit checks against metered data, ensuring mismeasurements, zero values, unusual trends or other data nuances are identified, documented, escalated and accounted for in compliant reporting.

Environmental Management Systems and Continuous Improvement
The role will support the maintenance and improvement of environmental and energy management systems. Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the implementation of environmental and energy management system requirements, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 where applicable.
• Schedule and support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 audits, surveillance visits and recertification activities, including collation of evidence, performance data and management-system demonstrations.
• Assisting with document control, records management and QA/QC of environmental procedures, work instructions and compliance documentation.
• Supporting internal reviews, assurance activities and environmental improvement projects.
• Assisting with the preparation of materials for audits, inspections and management reviews.
• Tracking environmental actions through to close-out.
• Contributing to lessons learned, best practice sharing and continuous improvement across the EH&S function.
• Support audit and assurance activities under supervision
• Complete monthly OIW compliance checks, including review of relevant logbooks, training records, discharge requirements and associated evidence to support permit compliance.

Emergency Response
The role holder may be required to participate in the company’s emergency response arrangements, appropriate to role level, training and competence.
This may include:
• Participating in emergency response exercises and training.
• Supporting environmental input during drills, exercises or incidents.
• Maintaining awareness of oil spill response, environmental incident reporting and escalation procedures.
• Undertaking a designated emergency response support role once trained and formally appointed.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

• Entry level experience in an HSE, environmental, regulatory, compliance, technical, operational or administrative support role.
• Minimum SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification, preferably in environmental science, HSE, engineering, science, business administration or related discipline.
• IEMA qualification (or willing to work towards this) would be beneficial
• Experienced in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Able to demonstrate the ability to work in an environment where numerous task requirements are constantly pressing
• Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise tasks
• Previous experience in QA/QC of documentation
• Willingness to learn UKCS environmental regulatory requirements and offshore oil and gas operations.
