Job Description

The Environmental Advisor will be a key member of the Environmental and Sustainability team, reporting to the EH&S Manager – Regulatory.

This is primarily an onshore-based role, supporting 24/7 offshore operations and ensuring environmental compliance across assets.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Prepare correspondence, documentation, and regulatory submissions
Interface with internal teams, contractors, and regulators to ensure timely processing of documentation
Coordinate with operations, well intervention, and project teams supporting offshore assets
Prepare, submit, and obtain environmental permits and consents (MAT applications including DRA, PRA, PLA, WIA, associated SAT applications, OPPC, GHG)
Investigate PON1 or OCR non-compliances and support resolution
Manage IRS submissions, track non-compliances, and ensure closure
Support and present in monthly compliance meetings (permits, non-compliance status, regulatory updates)
Manage F-Gas reporting, maintain records, and chair compliance meetings
Oversee chemical permitting and lead discussions with production chemists
Conduct audits (onshore and occasional offshore / third-party)
Participate in emergency response activities as required
Maintain regular engagement with regulators to ensure compliance
Support environmental improvement projects within EH&S
Undertake occasional offshore visits to support inspections and audits

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience
Degree or postgraduate qualification in an environmental discipline
Experience as an Environmental Advisor (onshore or supporting offshore operations)
Strong knowledge of UKCS permitting and regulatory submissions
Experience liaising with regulators and supporting inspections
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems

Demonstrate commitment to process safety frameworks relevant to the role
Comply with EH&S standards, systems, and applicable regulations

Emergency Response
Provide support to the Business Support Team (BST) in line with your role
Undertake additional responsibilities within the emergency response structure as required
