Job Description

As a Corporate Tax Assistant, you will support the UK Corporate Tax Department in delivering accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage of their finance or tax career who is keen to develop specialist knowledge and build a long-term career within corporate tax.

You will assist with the preparation of UK corporation tax returns and computations, support overseas tax reporting activities, and contribute to corporate tax administration processes.

The role involves working closely with finance, accounting, treasury and tax teams across the UK and internationally. Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills are therefore important.

This position would suit someone with basic accounting knowledge and an entry-level understanding or interest in tax. Previous experience within finance, accounting or tax would be beneficial, but extensive tax experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns and tax computations.
Assist with direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance activities.
Support overseas tax return preparation and related administration.
Maintain accurate tax records, documentation and compliance schedules.
Assist with responding to internal and external tax-related queries.
Work with accounting, treasury and statutory reporting teams.
Support the use and maintenance of tax and finance systems.
Contribute to process improvements and ongoing compliance activities.
Work collaboratively with UK and international stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Develop technical knowledge through training and professional qualification studies.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Essential
Basic knowledge or experience of accounting.
Entry-level understanding of tax or a genuine interest in developing a career in tax.
Previous experience within a finance, accounting or tax environment would be advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good attention to detail and analytical ability.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable
Previous exposure to UK corporate tax or finance compliance.
Working towards, or an interest in working towards, the ATT qualification.
Experience using tax or finance systems such as OneSource or AlphaTax.
