Job Description

Our client based in Aberdeen are looking for a Base Electrician to join their team.

Key activities and tasks:
• To support the maintenance manager in warehouse activities, quality and safety accreditation as well as required documentation preparation and maintenance of all electrical items
• To support base supervisor and assist warehouse personnel when required for load outs, servicing of equipment
• To be key member of the electrical team and support all electrical activities within Optima’s facilities, evaluating and recommending innovations to drive continuous improvement
• To maintain and improve the electrical workshop bays and stores to such a level that it becomes a fully functional independent department.
• Assist in the design of new equipment
• Liaise with warehouse supervisor regarding electrical requirements
• Assist and support electrical department head in managing budgets for electrical work
• Support Maintenance Manager in monitoring and evaluating the electrical services and products received from 3rd parties and suppliers
• To service on and offshore electrical starter panels, submersible pumps and other ancillary rig cooling equipment when required to the highest standard, to ensure quality and service to our clients
• To provide hands on training to the service and maintenance of electrical units.
• Create and present a technical presentation on the operation and safety issues surrounding the service and functuality of electrical units.
• To ensure adherence to the lock out procedure for all electrical devices.
• To assist project teams when required for technical and experience input.
• The creation and management of documentation for the relevant procedures i.e. equipment request forms, maintenance sheets, quality system and training matrix for apprentice electricians.
• To complete PAT testing of electrical items on site.
• To keep track of electrical assets (Submersible pumps & Panels) when out on jobs
