Job Description

This is a permanent role based at our client’s location in Aberdeenshire.  The Land and Property Assistant assists in the effective management of a large property portfolio including commercial, leisure, residential and rural property.  The successful candidate will join the management team delivering the forward strategy for the group.  Compensation package includes a salary of £35,000 PA, pension and healthcare.

Job Description
• Manage the tenant finding and letting of a range of commercial properties assisted by the Group Marketing and Communications Manager
• Carry out commercial lease and licence negotiations
• Manage and implement service charge negotiations
• Manage landlord and tenant responsibilities and carry out rent reviews
• Assist with managing access rights and boundary disputes
• Get involved in a range of land and property disposals
• There is an opportunity to become involved in a range of planning and development matters and infrastructure management
• Be involved in managing capital projects work and refurbishments
• Liaise with external consultants and contractors
• Manage facilities management responsibilities including maintenance and statutory compliance with Health & Safety and other regulations
• Depending upon expertise, there may be opportunities to become involved in the management of a wide range of other property matters related to biomass systems and energy, food, drink and tourism, golf and leisure, agricultural tenancies, residential properties, building heritage and woodlands

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Person Specification
• A dynamic and reliable individual with good knowledge of a range of property related matters, but preferably with some experience in commercial property leasing and letting
• The position would suit a progressive trainee chartered surveyor or someone with a commercial mind-set looking for a new challenge and a varied work type
• Good project management skills and an enquiring mind
• Excellent communication and people skills with experience of managing individuals, teams and tenants
• Excellent listening skills, the ability to build trust and to negotiate
• Good time management, ability to work autonomously and also part of a team, ability to take responsibility and also attention to detail
• Good presentation, written and verbal skills
• Excellent influencing skills and an analytical, methodical and organised approach to work and time management
• Good business acumen and the ability to negotiate tactfully and diplomatically with people at all levels
• The capacity to analyse and present information
• The ability to deal with a range of different problems
• A driving licence is essential
