ABERDEEN RECRUITMENT GROUP PLEDGES £25,000 TO LOCAL CAUSES

Tulloch Recruitment and Team Recruitment make sizeable donations to four charities.

An Aberdeen recruitment group has spread some festive cheer this Christmas by donating £25,000 to four charities.

The group which encompasses both Tulloch Recruitment Ltd and Team Recruitment Ltd decided not to send out seasonal corporate gifts to their clients this year in favour of supporting the worthy causes with their generous donation.

The beneficiaries are CLAN cancer support (£10,000), Maggie’s cancer caring centres (£5000), Aberdeen Royal Infirmary specialist heart and coronary care unit (£5000) and Friends of the Beatson cancer centre (£5000).

Business development director Terry Michael Allan has been encouraged by the positive response they have had from their clients after deciding to pledge the money to charity this Christmas.

He said: “We have chosen to donate to these four charities as in recent years many of our family, friends, colleagues and clients have been impacted by the devastating affects terminal illness has on patients and their loved ones.

“It’s very humbling to work with individuals involved within the various charities who dedicate their lives to helping those who suffer from terminal illness and it’s a privilege that we, with the support of our clients, are able to help in some small way.”

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN cancer support, said: “It’s fantastic the group has decided to pledge such a generous donation instead of giving out festive gifts and we’re extremely grateful to have the financial backing of the Aberdeen business community behind us once again.

“The vital extra funds couldn’t have come at a better time especially as we’re making the transition to become an open centre for anyone affected by cancer.”

Sharon O’Loan, from Maggie’s cancer care support, added: “It’s a fantastic surprise and one we didn’t expect at all. It’s always nice when you receive money from a company who holds your charity close to their heart.

“The donation is a significant investment that we really appreciate and will make very good use of it for delivering our new centre.”
