Job Description

Required for a long term project due to begin February/March 2019.  Anticipated duration is for 3 months initially with a view to becoming permanent.

Role Requirements

• Supervising of the overall thermal site operations and activities
• Ensuring personnel are aware of the operating procedures and that procedures are followed
• Reporting operations status, to UKOP assigned CEC
• Inventory of all materials being delivered or sent from the thermal site
• Ensuring that preventative maintenance schedules are followed and documented
• Ensuring that all project sampling is carried out and recorded as per client contract
• Ensure participation in Safety Meetings and TBTs
• Ensure HARCs are reviewed, understood and controls followed
• Provide trouble shooting support to the TLM personnel
• Making recommendations to the CEC concerning thermal operation requirements and to suggest solutions
• Ensuring that all toolbox meetings, pre-job safety meetings, JRI, LWI, Risk Assessments, checklists and on job instructions are effectively conducted
• Training new UKOP Thermal Specialist and ES personnel to operate and maintain all thermal equipment.
• Conducting personnel evaluation of all UKOP thermal specialist and ES personnel on a regular basis
• Participation in pre-job safety meetings, HOC, HSE tours, JSA process and all other HSE initiatives as required

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

• QHSE Level 2
• IOSH Managing Safety Training
• 3yrs previous supervisory experience
• Strong aptitude in operations, troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Permit to Work, LOTO, JSA, LWI, checklists and Risk Assessment training
• Excellent verbal and communications skills
• Full knowledge of safe working procedures for all aspects of the thermal and ES operations
• Formal training in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, power, or petroleum engineering, (formal training may be compensated by long experience)
• Intermediate or above knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Project
• Ability to work individually or as part of a close team, in various locations and environments, offshore and onshore
• Flexible attitude regarding work scope and working hours as work patterns and hours may change as operations dictate
• Flexible attitude to training and working on other ES waste management equipment as requested
